Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosala

Guess who designed the gorgeous Sophie Marceau' s outfits in "The World is not Enough "? Our very own friendly neighbourhood designer duo, Jani and Khosla! Gotcha there! Didn't know that, did ya?!! Seems Miss Universe is not the only one stage where India has caught the fancy of this fickle world of international fashion!

Even Grand dame Judi Dench, actually deigned to flow down just to pick up her costume for the Oscar '99 ! Such is the power they hold! Their success undoubtedly is because they create sensational outfits by merging the aesthetical grandeur of the ancient times and the look associated with the 20th century. This is why the Hollywood biggies have started clawing for them.

And its no mean achievement to conquer your own tribe! Attributed with topping the list of personal favourites of every designer, they have indeed won the ultimate accolade .

Opulent, ethnic, beautiful, but extremely wearable!!

They're certainly not making any bones about the line of business they're in - "We believe in creating the most flamboyant, unashamedly extravagant outfits. If we could say so, in presenting a totally glamorous version of life for people who have forgotten how to dream."
They can be credited with playing an extremely influential role in bringing the ancient arts of zardosi, chikan and mirror-work embroidery to the international centerstage.
Apart form doing their bit for the revival and restoration of ancient Indian arts they are also deeply involved in more direct ways of assisting mankind. They are lending a helping hand to Shakira Caine's "Save the Children" and Richard Gere's Art of Giving charities.
And even though they are expanding retail operations into the UK and the USA,
Some of their recent work includes the Ottoman line of woven brocades , The Aree line reviving the art of the traditional Indian running stitch , The Bedouin line derived from Uzbekistani carpet embroidery , The Kehkashan line where embroidery looks like richly woven tapestry , The Kilim line of crepe-de-chines and The Phulwari line in self-colours and pastels.
