Rathore hails from Rajasthan and has been educated in America. He lives in centuries old fortress palace in Jodhpur. He is well known in the Glamourous world of Seventh Avenue Fashion. 

He graduated from Parsons School of Design, New York in 1992. He then worked for Manhattan lables, Bill Blass and Oscar de la Renta, giving him experience and credibility in the fashion market. He then set his own "Rathore" in India.

Rathore focuses on fusing old-fashioned workmanship with modern styles. He has infused a fresh approach towards fashion. His collections are rich in scarlet , blue, black and gold brocades. Flouncy and swinging skirts with bare-shouldered tops are typical.
